The 12-month countdown to the 2014 Commonwealth Games began today.

Scottish squash number one Alan Clyne was among a group of athletes invited to Glasgow today for the countdown ceremony and photocall.

The squash competition will be held at the Scotstoun venue, with a war of words as the backdrop to the planning of the event. Scottish Squash are calling for a permanant glass court to retained to enable the governing body to stage future international events.

Squash UK understands the glass court being used in the Games has already been purchased by Squash Canada and is being leased back to Glasgow 2014.
