Welsh player Lowri Roberts won her first PSA title at the PSA de Normandie this month – despite carrying an injury.

Roberts, the World No.116, beat Maria Tovar of Colombia over four games in Le Havre.

Roberts, a 25-year-old operations manager, admitted: “This week my body has felt awful, suffering from a minor tear to my left quad last week. I came to the event hoping for the semis, and I left with my first ever professional title.”

“Proud of my achievements this year so far and hopefully a catalyst for the things to come. Starting the week off with a new world ranking of 116.”

She plays for Wales in Division 1 of this week’s ESF European Team Division 1 & 2 Squash Championships in Helsinki.

The show court will be placed in Pasila on the Cultural Square of the Mall of Tripla, the biggest shopping mall in the Nordic Countries.

England will be looking to retain their titles in the men’s and women’s events.
