Paul Coll came from two games down against former world champion Nick Matthew to help RAC claim consecutive titles in England’s Premier Squash League.

Leaders Pontefract sat the last round out meaning that the RAC could seal the title with a win over Nottingham, who first claimed the title in 2018/19.

Nele Gilis and Daryl Selby put the visitors two rubbers up before Nottingham debutant Tong Tsz-Wing beat England No.1 Sarah-Jane Perry over five games.

Coll then secured the victory as he came back strongly to beat Matthew 11-9, 11-10, 7-11, 7-11, 4-11. Coll and Selby were part of RAC’s title-winning team in 2019.

Elsewhere, Alba Storm beat Crawley 3-1 to finish second in the table, and St George’s won 3-1 away to Birmingham Lions.

The top five teams in the table are set to feature in next season’s Premiership, with the bottom two, Nottingham and Birmingham, joining the Championship with new entrants.
