From HOWARD HARDING

Following interest in Ramy Ashour’s current unbeaten Tour run, I have researched PSA player results onwww.squashinfo.com - and can provide what I think is a reasonably accurate top-six list of the longest unbeaten Tour runs by players in the ‘modern’ game.
I use the term ‘modern’ as I cannot access data on the likes of Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan – but we know that the former’s astonishing record is allegedly 555, and you have to assume that Jansher would have the next best record.
However, I am confident that nobody in the men’s game has since come near the 35-match-winning run that Ramy Ashour currently boasts

Next in my list are:
30 – Stewart Boswell (AUS)
29 – Peter Nicol (ENG)
26 – Mike Corren (AUS)
25 – Nick Matthew (ENG)
23 – Amr Shabana (EGY)

Editor’s Note: Thanks to Howard for his meticulous research. Ramy is certainly on a roll at the moment and when he returns for the British Open in May he will certainly be looking to extend that record.

A lot will depend on the weather conditions in Yorkshire at the end of May with the tournament being staged on the pitch at Hull City FC.

Here is a full list of Ramy’s final appearances.
