ONE World Sports, the sports network with live, world-class competitions from around the globe, will exclusively feature on its television network the men’s final of the 2013 J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions -- the world’s biggest spectator squash event. The taped one-hour broadcast airs on Sunday, January 27th at 9 pm ET.

The world-renowned tournament, showcasing the world’s best squash players, takes place from January 18-24 on a four-walled glass court in Vanderbilt Hall, in New York’s majestic Grand Central Terminal. Twenty-three of the top 25 ranked players participate in the tournament’s 32-man draw. The field includes five former winners of the tournament including: Egypt’s Ramy Ashour, currently the world’s number-one ranked player; defending tournament champion, Nick Matthew of England, number three in the world; second- ranked James Willstrop, also of England; fourth-ranked Gregory Gaultier of France; and Amr Shabana, the seventh-ranked player in the world, who won back-to-back Tournament of Champions in 2006 and 2007.

ONE World Sports is the exclusive television home to the 12 major Professional Squash Association (PSA) events in 2013. “The J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions is an exceptional world class event, featuring the best players in the squash universe,” said Alexander Brown, President and CEO of ONE World Sports. “We are the only TV provider delivering PSA squash events throughout the year to the countless U.S. squash players and fans. This tournament will give them an opportunity to see the very best of their sport.”

“To have ONE World Sports deliver a TV broadcast of the championship final is a wonderful opportunity to bring the J.P.Morgan Tournament of Champions to so many more fans,” said John Nimick, President of Squash Engine, Inc., the tournament promoter. “The Tournament of Champions is one of most highly anticipated tournaments on the global PSA World Tour. Our U.S. fans will be very excited to catch the finals highlights on ONE World Sports.”

The sport of squash debuted in England more than a century ago and there are now 20 million squash players in 185 countries -- including 1.1 million in the United States, where the number of people playing squash has increased 83% over the past four years. It is currently under review by the International Olympic Committee to be in the 2020 Olympic Games.

In addition to the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, ONE World Sports programming includes world-class racquet sports events such as the PSA World Series Final, Badminton World Federation (BWF) and ITTF Table Tennis.

ONE World Sports Network can be seen in on Cablevision’s Optimum TV channel 1159, and DISH channels 646 and 9794.
