Bailey won World and European team championship titles with England

Former Commonwealth Games squash silver medallist Tania Bailey has announced her retirement from the sport following a succession of injuries.

The 31-year-old, from Stamford, has had three operations on a knee injury and has also undergone hip surgery.

She told BBC Lincolnshire : "I still feel I had a lot to give in the game but I can't train to the level I need.

"I would like to have carried on but I know I wouldn't have been able to play as well as I wanted to."

Bailey, who has also won the English national title and European and World team championships with England, will now focus on a career in coaching.
