Top Ten Return For Waters

Alison Waters returns to the WSA World Tour Top10 after continuing her storming comeback bid with wins over Rachael Grinham, Annie Au, Low Wee Wern and Joelle King in August.

Following a year-long layoff with an Achilles injury, the former world No.3 had slipped to No.44 in the world.  But the Englishwoman has stormed back to occupy the No.9 slot, a position she last held in August 2011, following a quarter-final finish in the Australian Open as well winning her fifth title of the year, the Matamata Open.

Also in the Top10, Kasey Brown moves up two places to No.8 after reaching the Australian Open quarters, whilst Laura Massaro leapfrogs fellow Englishwoman Jenny Duncalf for the first time in her career, to occupy No.3.

Rachael Grinham slips out of the Top10 for the first time in twelve years following disappointing finishes in the Australian and Matamata Opens, with Low Wee Wern moving up to No.10, her highest ever world ranking.

Harvard student Amanda Sobhy returns to the Top20, jumping six places after beating Joey Chan and Jenny Duncalf in Australia.

Teenager Emily Whitlock moves up a place to No.29 to occupy her highest career ranking to date after a remarkable win over Jaclyn Hawkes in the first round of the Australian Open.  Players also achieving career highs this month include Yathreb Adel who gains a place to sit at No.30, Kylie Lindsay jumps five places to No.39 and Lauren Selby who moves up two places to No.40.  Tesni Evans, who pushed world No.1 Nicol David to four games earlier this month, moves up six places to No.45 to occupy a Top50 place for the first time, whilst Lisa Aitken also makes her Top50 debut at No.50.
